We are proud to announce our contribution to a major global milestone – the successful structural design of the Liwa Marker, now officially recognized as the tallest landmark sign in the world by Guinness World Records.
Unveiled by the Abu Dhabi Media Office, this Hollywood-style sign is perched on a hill in the Al Dhafra region, standing 197 meters above sea level. The Liwa Marker reaches a staggering height of 23.5 meters and weighs 49 tonnes, surpassing the iconic Hatta sign in Dubai, which stands at 19.28 meters, and the famous Hollywood sign in the USA, which measures 13.7 meters.
This monumental structure is more than just a record-breaking installation
— it is a testament to the UAE’s commitment to innovation, cultural identity, and world-class tourism. The project is part of a broader initiative by the Al Dhafra Region Municipality to enhance the region’s appeal as a premier destination in Abu Dhabi.
Our engineering team is honoured to have led the structural design for this landmark, ensuring safety, stability, and resilience in one of the UAE’s most iconic terrain settings. From wind resistance to foundation integrity and fabrication optimization, our design process balanced creativity with precision.
We celebrate this achievement as a reflection of our ongoing dedication to engineering excellence and national pride.
